Jim Beam has been perfecting Bourbon Whiskey from Clermont, since 1795. Their old barrels, some being as old as 200 years, recently found an equally important task apart from brewing whisky. They are currently being used to make timepieces by Origina Grain; a reputed authority in the manufacture of wood and steel watches.

The time master, in collaboration with Jim Beam, already has handcrafted 500 timepieces that were made from retired Jim Beam Barrel wood. The magic of it all is in the uniqueness of the American white oak that was used for the barrels. Each one of them has a unique pattern and hence every watch; there are no look-alikes.

To make it truly high-end, Original Grain used Miyota 8215 Automatic Movement. Additionally, each watch comes with 21 jewels, a mineral crystal glass cover, water resistant housing, brushed espresso 316 stainless steel, a 40-hour power reserve and double-locking fold-over clasp.

As you might have guessed, the watches come in excellent gentleman’s packaging. The kit includes a numbered certificate of authenticity, premium italian leather band, an Original Grain branded flask and Jim Beam and Jim Beam barrel wood emblem.

In an initiative to give back to the lives that depend on the forest, Original Grain plants ten trees for each watch that is sold. The initiative employs people and is run with assistance from Trees For The Future.
