Honestly, with the advent of the internet and YouTube, I think it’s pretty fair to say we’ve all seen people do some pretty unbelievable things for YouTube views. No less that a month ago, we watched two young girls completely lose their shit trying to eat Carolina Reapers. And yet, here we are again! The players change, but the game remains the same!
I stumbled upon a video from the Brave Wilderness. In a nutshell, Brave Wilderness is a YouTube channel where we follow along with animal expert Coyote Peterson (Wait, is his name really Coyote?) as Coyote and his crew lead us on exciting expedition adventures. The channel covers 3 shows, but we will be looking at Breaking Trail.
The entire premise of the Breaking Trail series is watching Coyote Peterson get stung by the most painful insects in the world. Yeah, “ouch” is right! I know, I know! You’re right. I know exactly where this is heading, but let’s continue shall we? According to Coyote’s intro, his goal is to work his way up to being stung by the most painful insect known to man, or as he say, “The King of Sting”. – the Bullet Ant. We set a Google alert just so we don’t miss it.
BRAVERY OR IDIOCY? YOU BE THE JUDGE
In this episode, Coyote gets stung by the Tarantula Hawk! Leading the world as the 2nd most painful sting, the Tarantula Hawk is the largest species of wasp in North America! These enormous spider wasps are most notorious for their macabre breeding habits but are also becoming well known for their ranking on the insect sting pain index. Yeah, and this guy plans to sting himself, on purpose. I suggest you rethink how much you hate your soulless job.
Coyote Peterson spends most of the video giving us a little background on the Tarantula Hawk and Bullet Ant, and then finally comes the moment of truth. The guy is so nervous about stinging himself that his hands are literally shaking. However, all is fair YouTube view acquisition, so he proceed to place the Hawk on his and push down. It didn’t take long for the Hawk to sting the shit out of this dude. Coyote immediately drop to the ground moaning and wailing in pain. He can’t move his arm. Oh, I forgot to mention a Tarantula Hawk sting causes some temporary paralysis. After about a minute or some, Coyote’s arm begins to swell, and he literally want to cry, lol!
Remember boys and girls: All great lessons are learnt the hard way.
